Co-operatives building a better future for all

6 July 2024 marks the 102nd International day of co-operatives giving co-operatives around the world the opportunity to showcase their current and historical contributions to building a sustainable future and accelerating efforts to build a sustainable future by 2030.

#CoopsDay will build the momentum towards the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives, which was declared by the UN last year and will be kicked off with the ICA Global Conference in New Delhi, India in November 2024.

The co-operative identity, values, and principles set a strong system for achieving the SDGs. For the 2024 #CoopsDay, cooperatives can showcase their high standards for inclusive and sustainable growth, and service as stewards for protecting the environment and fighting climate change. Through democratic governance and shared ownership, cooperatives set an example for peace and stability, bringing people from diverse backgrounds together on equal terms, and fostering understanding and respect. The cooperative youth will be empowered to lead the way by giving them opportunities, transferring knowledge, and ensuring equity and equality for all.
